A new timetable has been created and some students will notice that they now are in different classes. Jazz Class groups are arranged by age. (E.g. 3 - 5 years, 6 - 8 years and so on) A student is put into a class as is their age during that year. A student turning 6 during 2011 would be enrolled the 6 - 8 years class.

All other classes are arranged by level of capability which approximately corresponds to the jazz class age groups. However an assessment of the students ability will be carried out before any students is enrolled to a class.

Dance Force is also on Facebook. This is also another way in which Dance Force will keep in contact with students and advise on information at the studio. I advise all students to join this page.

AUSTRALIAN DANCE INSTITUTE ASSESSMENTS

At Dance Force we encourage students to participate in an annual mid-year assessment under the Australian Dance Assessment Program. This is a nationally recognized training and assessment program in dance studies, in the styles of Classical Ballet, Jazz and Tap to which an assessor form interstate will assess the students according to national competency based learning standards.

These assessments also explore other avenues of dance, such as choreography, musical interpretation, nutrition, mechanics of dance, stagecraft, theatre operations and how dance in the past has made it what it is today. Each student will receive a trophy upon completing a level, which I am sure they will want to show off.
